Netflix’s limited series Adolescence has officially become the streaming giant’s second-most-watched English-language series of all time, overtaking Stranger Things season 4 in the rankings.
As of June 1, Adolescence has garnered 141.2 million views since it premiered on March 13, and it still has a few more days left in Netflix’s 91-day measurement window for viewership tracking, as Variety reports.
In comparison, Stranger Things season 4 hit 140.7 million views in its first 91 days after releasing in 2022.
That puts Adolescence just ahead, with a new milestone in Netflix’s top English-language series of all time. The only title still ahead in this category is Wednesday, which drew an incredible 252.1 million views during the same time frame in 2022.
Looking at all languages, Adolescence holds the fourth spot overall on Netflix’s global chart.
Squid Game season 1 remains Netflix’s most-watched series to date with 265.2 million views. Squid Game season 2 also ranks highly with 192.6 million views, placing it between Wednesday and Adolescence in total global numbers.
In the week of May 26 to June 1, Netflix’s most-watched title was Sirens, which pulled in 18.2 million views, an increase from its debut week of 16.7 million views.
Coming in second was the true crime docuseries Cold Case: The Tylenol Murders, which recorded 11.9 million views during its first four days on the platform.
Third place went to Dept. Q, which earned 6 million views in the same four-day window.
American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden continued to maintain strong interest, holding fourth place in its third week with 5.4 million views. It was followed by Bet, which brought in 2.9 million views in its third week.
With Adolescence making such a strong impact in just 80 days, Netflix’s viewers seem more engaged than ever, and the streaming platform’s weekly rankings continue to highlight the changing trends in what audiences are watching most.
