Veteran actor Danny DeVito played the popular DC villain Penguin in the 1992 Batman Returns.

Recently, the 80-year-old did had chat with Irish actor Colin Farrell, who is also globally acclaimed for portraying the titular role on the HBO Max miniseries, The Penguin.

While talking in a Variety interview, Danny spoke about his experience of playing the antagonist in Tim Burton’s directorial. According to him, he truly relished the opportunity of playing the villain.

DeVito believes that the character gives you freedom. "I loved it because it gave you a freedom that burst out. You can go off the rails with something.”

The Matilda famed added that he really liked the magic brought on sets by Burton.

Danny stated, "The operatic element of Tim Burton’s 'Batman Returns' was my favourite thing about it - the music and sets and the whole thing.”

“The Shakespeare of it - 'All the world’s a stage.' [The Penguin's] realm and his penguins and his minions and his passion. I loved that.”

The Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner played the baddie alongside Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer, who portrayed Batman and Catwoman respectively.

In the today’s world, Farrell is largely recognized for playing the comic villain. He even bagged a Golden Globe Award for the character.
