The Narrow Road to the Deep North star, Jacob Elordi and director Justin Kurzel complemented each other skills and craft.
The pair had seemingly longed to work with each other for a couple of years and had admired each other’s work long before their latest project.
In an interview with the Variety, The Kissing Booth star admitted of being a fan of Kurzel since his movie Snowtown in 2011.
"Especially in Australia, it’s one of the first films that you find when you’re in high school that’s a little different and you have to talk to people about," he said.
On the other hand, Kurzel gushed about Elordi’s work in Euphoria, Priscilla and Saltburn.
"He’s a cinephile. We had these great conversations about films, about approaching characters and the way we both want to work," said the director.
Kurzel continued, "Jacob is the real deal; he’s incredibly curious about the craft of acting and wants to get the most out of it."
"Sometimes you can just sort of feel that something’s going to be really special," he added.
The Narrow Road to the Deep North was released on April 18 on Amazon.
