Kate Hudson praises Mindy Kaling while working on the set of ‘Running Point’ show
Kate Hudson has recently lauded Mindy Kaling for her work dedication amid going into labour.
The Deepwater Horizon actress talked about her profound love for Mindy while attending an Emmy consideration event for their Netflix show Running Point on May 30 at the UCLA Lakers Training Centre in Los Angeles.
“I have to say, I've fallen in love with this woman,” said the 46-year-old for Mindy who co-created and executive-produced the show.
Kate described Mindy “brilliant and trustworthy” saying, “she puts the best team together” for the show.
The truth is Mindy was “pregnant” as the Music actress recalled having a script “like their first table read”.
“She's on Zoom. She then has the baby and is sending notes like an hour after she has the baby. I was like, ‘Isn’t Mindy literally in labour?’” mentioned Kate.
The Something Borrowed actress was in awe of Mindy’s work commitment as Kate stated, “She is a powerhouse and delivers what she says she's going to deliver.”
Mindy, who welcomed her third baby in February of 2024, created the show with Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen.
Meanwhile, Kate also opened up about her experience working on the set of Running Point.
“I had so many bruises… I remember one time I had this big bruise on my left thigh, and I was getting into bed and Danny [Fujikawa], my partner, was like, ‘Babe, what's going on?’ And it was massive,” explained the Bride Wars actress.
Kate admitted that filming the show was “so fun” and that the cast had “the best time shooting”.
“We all fell in love with each other, and our hope was that people would enjoy watching it as much as we did making it,” she told PEOPLE.
