Ed Sheeran to get 'special tribute' in Ipswich during homecoming gigs
Ed Sheeran to perform in his hometown Ipswich on July 11, 12 and 13
Shape of You hitmaker Ed Sheeran is all set to commence series of homecoming concerts soon.
The 34-year-old confirmed in the beginning of May that he will be performing multiple shows at Ipswich Town Football Club's home stadium Portman Road in July.
For the unversed, Sheeran attended school in Framlingham, but he also has a marginal share in Ipswich Town Football club.
Therefore, the hometown has decided to honour one of its ‘successful sons’ with a special tribute as it is chance for the whole town to celebrate.
According to Ipswich Central Business Improvement District (BID) chief executive Lee Walker, the whole town would be decorated in the same shade of pink as showed on the Perfect vocalist’s new album, 'Play'.
In a statement, Lee stated, "When we heard that global superstar, dedicated Ipswich Town fan and local lad Ed Sheeran was coming home to perform in Ipswich this summer, and bringing 90,000 fans with him, we knew we had to celebrate.”
"As we 'Welcome Home Ed' it's a chance for the whole town to celebrate as the eyes of the world fall on the town."
Ed will be performing live at his birthplace’s football club on July 11, 12 and 13, reported BBC.
