Dwayne Johnson takes on major challenge as he confirms bold new role
Dwayne Johnson reveals excitement for upcoming project as he shifts focus in new project
Dwayne Johnson is all set to embrace a thrilling new role for his upcoming project.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the Moana actor will be starring in a new psychological thriller called Breakthrough.
In a report by Deadline, it was revealed that the former WWE wrestler is "gearing up to play a life coach, who will charm an alienated young man". Although, the charming personality is a mere mask for the coach's "morally questionable methods of manipulation and his own concealed darkness".
The Fast & Furious star took to his Instagram on May 29 to confirm the role admitting that he is looking forward to play such a complex character.
"I’ve been very hungry (and grateful) for this kind of challenge," he wrote in the caption. "The story is a deep dark psychological dive into the culture of motivational 'gurus', and those souls seeking to find their greater purpose in life."
Showing his eagerness and excitement for the role, he added, "It’s a character I can try to unhinge. And perhaps rip open."
The outlet also noted that while Johnson is confirmed for the supporting role, the big casting decisions, including the lead role is still pending a decision. In addition, a director is not yet attached to the project.
Johnson will assist with production duties alongside actor and writer Zeke Goodman, who has reportedly been tapped to handle the script.
