Tom Hanks brought his signature charm and sense of humour to the New York City premiere of The Phoenician Scheme on Wednesday, May 28, joking around with photographers and turning the spotlight into a moment of fun.

According to Page Six, Hanks playfully called out one photographer who was taking a bit too long with photos.

“Shut the f--- up!” he shouted in jest, stirring up laughter rather than any tension during the faux disagreement, as per PEOPLE.

Joining the lighthearted antics was Bryan Cranston, Hanks’ on-screen brother in the Wes Anderson film.

Cranston, 69, noticed his wardrobe wasn’t quite in order and made it part of the act.

“My tie is askew!” he exclaimed to the photographers. “Thanks for letting me know my tie was askew.” He even joked about turning it into a brand, saying, “I’m going to come out with a line of ties called Askew!”

The premiere, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center, featured plenty of cheerful moments as the cast came together to celebrate their new film.

Hanks was seen warmly greeting fellow star Benicio del Toro, 58, in a video shared by The Hollywood Reporter. Other cast members in attendance included Scarlett Johansson, F. Murray Abraham, Hope Davis, and Stephen Park, along with director Wes Anderson.

The Phoenician Scheme follows industrialist Zsa-zsa Korda, played by del Toro, as he embarks on a new business venture with his daughter Liesl (Mia Threapleton) and her tutor Bjørn (Michael Cera). Hanks and Cranston appear as a basketball-loving sibling duo, Leland and Reagan.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the premiere, Cranston shared a moment from filming that stood out to him the most.

“I think it was when Tom and I, playing brothers, were absolutely marveling at what Benicio del Toro was asked to do. Massive amounts of very tricky dialogue,” he said.

“Tom and I are going, ‘My God, I'm so glad I don't have that role,’” Cranston added. “We were saying to [del Toro], ‘What can we do for you? What can we bring you? Can I massage your feet?’”

The Phoenician Scheme is set to hit theaters on Friday, May 30.
