'Mission: Impossible 8' director spills beans about Tom Cruise's vision
Tom Cruise having 'serious conversations' for sequel of his popular movie
Christopher McQuarrie, director of Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, has shared insights about Tom Cruise’s future plans.
The eighth sequel of cruise’s popular franchise is successfully running in theatres worldwide.
In a podcast, McQuarrie revealed that the 62-year-old is pretty much interested in making a spin-off version of his 2008 film.
The two even had 'serious conversations' about it during the production of the Mission: Impossible 8.
Tom is determined to continue the story of Les Grossman of Tropic Thunder in a new project.
The 56-year-old director, while speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, opened, “The conversations we’ve had about Les Grossman are so f****** funny.”
“We’re talking about it, we’re having very serious conversations about it, and how best to do it. It ultimately comes down to what that character is.”
McQuarrie admitted sharing ideas for a spin-off with the Top Gun: Maverick star while working on Mission: Impossible.
He added, “We don’t even think about the structure, we play with scenes. Just to be sitting at a breakfast table, not talking about the movie we’re making for a minute, is such decompression.”
Tropic Thunder is a comedy war film released in 2008 featuring Tom along with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr and others.
