The Peaky Blinders' creator Steven Knight mapped out what's next for the hit TV series.
The show, starring Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby, is a British crime drama series set in post-World War I Birmingham.
Earlier this year, The Sun reported that BBC is hoping to have seventh season ready by 2026.
Now, as per the Irish Star, the writer has confirmed that the new series is set to begin production soon. It will take place in the 1950s era and will be shot in the iconic home turf of Shelby clan, Birmingham.
Confirming the ongoing rumours, Knight said, "There is a new series and what's really great for Birmingham is that, like the film, it will be shot here."
He described the upcoming series as "a spin-off," focusing around the life-threatening adventures of the "next generation" of the notorious gang.
The story will unfold during a time marked by the rise of violent mobs of Teddy Boys and rise of notorious East London villains the Kray twins.
Previously, The Sun also revealed that Murphy may reprise his role as a "father figure" to younger generation of gangsters, a similar role played by the late Helen McCrory as Polly Gray.
Scheduled for release next year on the BBC, and distributed by Netflix beyond UK, the series will pick up after the debut of the much-anticipated Peaky Blinders movie The Immortal Man.
