Noah Wyle talks filming ‘Friends’ cameo with George Clooney
Noah Wyle and George Clooney played two doctors in season one of ‘Friends’
Noah Wyles spoke about his memorable time on the set of Friends alongside his ER co-star, George Clooney.
Wyle and Clooney appeared in the two-part episode from season one, titled, The One With Two Parts, Part 2.
In the episode, they played two doctors who go on a double date with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Monica (Courteney Cox), while being unaware the entire time that Rachel is actually Monica and Monica is actually Rachel.
In the latest Entertainment Weekly’s, the Awardist podcast, The Pitt star revealed that he already had pre-existing relationship with its cast.
"We were also collegiate back in the old days. I knew a lot of them before our shows broke," Wyle explained. "I was friends with Matthew [Perry], I was friends with Jennifer [Aniston]. I knew a lot of people that knew David [Schwimmer] and Lisa [Kudrow]."
He went on to talk about both the shows, ER and Friends were airing simultaneously from the same TV network, so they all use to spend plenty of time together on sets and studios.
Hence to him, the brief cameo on hit comedy show felt like, "the lowest hanging fruit to cross-pollinate for the network to have us be on their show."
"But it seemed totally natural because we were all hanging out anyway," he added.
Wyle further shared that the brief appearance felt more like a "just doing a walk-on" and didn’t expected it to come with any stress or formalities.
In addition to Wyle and Clooney, ER starred Anthoney Edwards, Sherry Stringfield, and Eriq La Salle. The show ran from 1994 – 2009. Meanwhile Friends aired form 1994-2004.
