Thief’s plan backfires as he plunges into 60-foot well
Suspect from neighbouring village enters fields to steal from a tube well
ARIFWALA: Things took an unexpected turn for a thief when his plan for stealing failed as he fell into a 60-foot deep well in a village near Arifwala.
In order to steal from a tube well, the suspect, who was identified as Ali from the neighbouring village of 46 EB, had entered the fields of village 64 EB.
However, his sneaky mission took a nosedive—literally—as he found himself at the bottom of a deep well. Realising his predicament, Ali could think of nothing else but to call rescue services for help.
Rescue personnel, using location tracking, arrived at the scene and successfully pulled the suspect out of the watery trap.
Ali was then taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. During police interrogation, he confessed to his intention to steal.
