Naomi Watts and Bill Murray geared up to show off their heart-warming friendship bond over the silver screen.
On Tuesday, February 11, Bleecker Street premiered the trailer for The Friend, starring Watts as a New York City novelist Iris and Murray as her close friend who suddenly passed away and also happens to be the owner of a lovable Great Dane.
According to the official synopsis, "After the unexpected death of her closest friend and mentor, New York novelist and writing teacher Iris becomes the caretaker of both his literary legacy and his beloved Great Dane, Apollo."
The trailer, which premiered during the Westminster Dog Show, gives a preview of Watts’ character as she reluctantly takes in the enormous dog, moving him into her tiny Manhattan apartment.
Though Iris initially struggles to juggle the presence of the oversized furry companion with her professional commitments and daily routine, she eventually builds a bond with Apollo.
"Together the unlikely duo begins to move through their shared grief, tentatively embarking on a surprising path toward aceptance and healing," the synopsis reveals, per People.
Additionally, The Friend is set to make a debut in New York City on March 28, with a nationwide release on April 4.
