Ashley Tisdale to take break from social media after 'judgement and assumptions'
Ashley Tisdale reflects on the pros and cons of social media as she plans hiatus
Ashley Tisdale is going offline for some time.
The actress is taking a break from social media, sharing that she has been intentionally absent from online platforms in recent weeks.
The High School Musical alum opened up about her decision in a candid Instagram Stories post on Feb. 7, explaining why she has been less active.
"As the world is getting loud I find myself wanting to share less and less," Tisdale wrote. "Maybe it's because I don't feel I can contribute in my positive way when everything feels so negative."
The actress and singer, who shares daughters Jupiter, 3, and Emerson, 5 months, with husband Christopher French, emphasized that her choice was driven by the need to balance work and motherhood while maintaining her peace of mind.
"I've been loving putting my phone down and being in the moment," the 39-year-old continued. "Social media is such a blessing when you want to connect with everyone but can also be so noisy when used with judgment and assumptions."
While Tisdale is stepping back from frequent posts, she still shares glimpses of her family life on occasion.
In a recent interview on the Breaking Beauty podcast, she recalled a funny moment when Jupiter watched High School Musical and mistook one of her former co-stars for her dad.
"She has seen High School Musical—I think when about a year ago maybe, my husband showed her—and she thought Zac Efron was her dad," Tisdale revealed.
"She's like, ‘Daddy!’ I was like, ‘No, no, no. Just ‘cause they have dark hair, it is not Daddy.’"
Though she may be spending less time online, Tisdale remains focused on cherishing moments with her family while staying mindful of the impact of social media.
