Princess Beatrice’s babygirl arrives early after doctors warned of premature birth
Princess Beatrice welcomes premature baby girl after doctors’ warning
Princess Beatrice is settling into life as a mother of two after welcoming her newborn daughter, Athena, into the world.
The little royal arrived earlier than expected on January 22 at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, weighing 4 lb 5 oz.
Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, shared a heartwarming first glimpse of their baby girl, wrapped snugly in a pink blanket with her dark hair visible.
The couple had initially announced the pregnancy in October, expecting a spring arrival, but medical advice had hinted at the possibility of an early birth.
Despite initial plans to spend Christmas abroad with Edoardo’s family, Beatrice remained in the UK on doctors’ recommendations. Ultimately, she celebrated the festive season at Sandringham with the royal family while preparing for Athena’s arrival.
Now back home, baby Athena is adjusting to life with her loving family, including her three-year-old sister, Sienna, and older half-brother, Wolfie.
Buckingham Palace announced the joyful news with a touching statement, marking a special moment for the royal family.
