Christian Slater reunites with Mobsters’ Patrick Dempsey after 33 years

Christian Slater is in high spirits following his reunion with Mobsters co-star Patrick Dempsey after over three decades.

In an interview with People, Slater, who last shared the screen with Dempsey in 1991, looked 30 years back to when they played the young mobsters taking over New York City in the 1920s.

"I had worked with Dempsey 30 years ago in Mobsters, and it was a funny gangster movie," he recalled. "It's really something. We got our Tommy guns and it's a pretty funny movie."

In the film, Slater, now 55, played Charlie "Lucky" Luciano, a real-life gangster who was part of the creation of the National Crime Syndicate.

Meanwhile, Dempsey, now 58, was Meyer Lansky, another organised crime figurehead.

In addition to his feelings for the crime drama film, Slater reflected on his reunion with his long-lost Mobsters co-star.

"It was wonderful to reconnect with [Dempsey]. It was really, really great. Really great," he shared.

Dempsey and Slater appeared in the Dexter prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, which explores how Michael C. Hall culminated the infamous serial killer.

Following the 2006 series, the new show will feature Dempsey as Miami Metro Homicide Captain Aaron Spencer and Slater plays Dexter’s father, Harry.
