A family in Florida thought they were being pranked when an inflatable Grinch Christmas decoration vanished from their yard but soon found out that the thief was a bear.
The household found the sneaky bear stealing the inflatable Grinch through security camera footage, according to UPI.
Shanick Suarez said her family decorated their Golden Gate Estates home for the holiday in November and the next day of Thanksgiving, they discovered the Grinch had been stolen.
"We were just dumbfounded," Suarez told WBBH-TV. "We were like, where did it go?"
She said she suspected the vanishing of the Grinch to be a prank when a neighbour texted her a few days later to say their inflatable decoration had been found two houses away from her home.
The Grinch was put back in place but she received a security alert from her camera and found a bear attacking the Dr Seuss character.
"I never expected it to be a bear," Suarez said.
"I thought it was the funniest thing ever. I literally, like, text my husband. I'm like, 'What is going on?' We were texting back and forth, just rewatching the video, sending it to all of our family and friends at five in the morning,” she said.
The bear dragged the Grinch into the nearby woods and the family was able to find it later but it was too damaged to be put in the yard for decoration again.
"It's a funny story to tell," she said.
