Noah Beck is ready to explore the world outside of his social media.
The TikTok sensation recently talked to People magazine about switching from content production to acting and his aspirations to further his career in Hollywood. He recently made his film debut in Tubi's Sidelined: The QB and Me.
Beck actually had another desire prior to performing and becoming well-known on TikTok in 2020.
“Professional soccer was plan A and there was really no plan B… Growing up, I didn’t really know anything other than that in terms of what I wanted to do,” he admitted.
But when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Beck eventually left the University of Portland, where he was playing D1 football, and soon after, he went viral on TikTok, starting a lucrative career on social media.
However, he was beginning to search for a new challenge despite having over 33 million followers on the short-form video network.
Despite having "nothing about it" and having to start from "ground zero," acting entered the picture at that point, according to Beck. Prior to being cast as top football player Drayton Lahey in Quarterback: A QB and Me, which debuted on Tubi on November 29, he had a guest appearance on Disney's Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.
In anticipation of presumably more performing roles in the future, Regarding his career on social media, Beck stated, “I think there will be a time where I won’t become as reliant on it and I won’t feel like I need to stay relevant, if you will, to keep the views coming… the paychecks coming in. I hope that acting can take some of that weight off.”
While Beck likes that “you’re your own kind of boss” when it comes to making a living from full-time content creation, he said, “At times, [it] can be a bit exhausting.”
“With acting, you check in and then you check out,” he explained. “It’s a job… and I like the idea of having the structure.”
However, Beck’s ideal future would be to have the “best of both worlds,” adding, “I would love to continue to work as an actor and have fun with social media on the flip side.”
