Shakira embarks on 'transformative' journey with major announcement

Shakira is parting ways with something very dear to her as she seeks to forge connections with what truly matters.

Earlier this week, the Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker announced that she would be giving away her customized purple car to one lucky fan, marking a celebratory gesture tied to her latest single, Soltera, Spanish for single.

"This car was a gift to myself as I began my single life, but I realized that what truly matters is human connection," she said in a press release, reflecting on her split from ex Gerard Piqué.

"The car, the clothes, the material things — they don’t transform us," the 47-year-old Columbian superstar continued. "It’s the people we love and the connections we build that truly make a difference."

To have a chance to win Shakira’s purple car, fans will need to enter a contest by uploading a dance to Soltera on Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #ElCarroDeShakira before November 29.

The Waka Waka chart topper will then select five finalists, and the public will vote for the winner on December 5. The winner will be announced on December 6 during Despierta América.

Released on September 25, Soltera has already climbed to the Global Top 50 on Spotify. In addition, the Shakira is preparing to kick off her world tour in May 2025.
