Jelly Roll drops 110 pounds while tackling 'food addiction'
The country star has adopted a healthier mindset on his ‘Beautifully Broken’ tour which has helped him shed the weight
Jelly Roll is celebrating a major health milestone, revealing he’s lost 110 pounds this year as part of his ongoing battle with food addiction.
Speaking to People magazine, the 39-year-old country star shared how rethinking his relationship with food was the key to his transformation.
“The battle was with the food addiction, changing the way I’ve looked at food for the last 39 years,” he admitted. “But once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.”
The Winning Streak singer credits his Beautifully Broken tour, which began in August, for helping him drop 60 to 70 pounds. He and his crew embraced a healthier lifestyle on the road, incorporating daily basketball games, nutritious meals, and regular emotional check-ins. This was a stark shift for Jelly, who reflected, “There was once a time in life that the culture I built on tour revolved around alcohol and drugs. Now it’s around good eating and exercising.”
Jelly's struggles with food addiction stem from childhood, growing up in Antioch, Tenn., where unhealthy eating habits were common in his household. But this year, he’s committed to new goals, training for and completing his first 5K race in May with the support of his wife, Bunnie Xo.
The Grammy nominee isn’t slowing down. “I hope I continue to lose this weight,” he said, determined to maintain the discipline that’s reshaped his health and life.
