Ariana Grande jams along to fan blasting her song at stoplight: 'Made a friend'
Ariana Grande 'couldn't believe it' when a car next to her was playing her song 'Imagine'
Ariana Grande wasn’t expecting to hear her song blasting in the car next to her when she pulled up at a red light.
In a since-expired video shared on her Instagram Stories, the pop star, 31, overheard a driver playing her 2018 hit Imagine and couldn’t resist joining in. The spontaneous encounter had the singer chatting with the star-struck fan, Edwin, and even singing along from her car window.
“What’s your name? Edwin, nice to meet you,” Grande said in the clip, visibly delighted by the coincidence. “I was like, ‘How is this real? Is that me?’ This made my day!” The fan, overwhelmed with excitement, replied, “Oh my god, I adore you... I can’t believe I’m this close to you!”
Grande captioned the video with heartfelt gratitude, writing, "I couldn’t believe my ears !!!!!!" She added, "Thank you, Edwin, for making my day. I’m still crying."
Edwin later shared his perspective of the moment, capturing Grande singing along to Imagine before their brief but memorable interaction.
The track, which was a promotional single from her Thank U, Next album, reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018.
