Duchess Sophie exuded elegance as she stepped out for her first royal engagement following an accident last week.
The Duchess of Edinburgh, accompanied by her husband, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, appeared radiant while attending the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday evening.
Dressed in a black velvet Suzannah Grandad dress paired with Christian Dior patent leather pumps, Sophie adorned the regimental brooch of the Queen’s Own Yeomanry, of which she is Royal Colonel, and a poppy brooch.
Sophie and Edward were also joined by King Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princess Anne and other members of the royal family. Queen Camilla had skipped the event due to a “viral chest infection.”
The outing comes after Sophie accidently hit herself with a golf ball during a royal engagement last week. The royal was playing crazy golf in her visit to Legoland in her capacity as Patron of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
In an unlucky incident, the duchess was captured by photographer Tim Rooke as she got struck by the same ball, which bounded back after hit it.
The injury was not as serious as Prince Edward in good spirits had set out for a solo engagement the next day of his wife’s mishap.
