Adele pauses Munich concert to broadcast women’s 100m final at 2024 Olympics
Adele watched along with the audience as Julie Alfred of Saint Lucia clinched gold
Adele is a true Olympics fan, even while on stage!
During her concert in Munich on Saturday, August 3, the singer-songwriter, 36, unapologetically paused her performance to turn into the women’s 100-meter final from the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris.
A fan-made video circulating social media captured the Hello hitmaker turning towards the back of the stage as the camera shifted focus from her to the race on the jumbotron.
The audience watched along as Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia clinched gold with a time of 10.72 seconds, followed closely by Sha’Carri Richardson from Team USA.
“Let’s give her a round of applause! Let’s get on with the show. Fantastic, St. Lucia!” Adele celebrated.
The night before, Adele expressed her admiration for Olympic athletes during her concert.
“While I was watching world-class athletes, I’d be like, ‘Oh that landing was a bit dodgy, wasn’t it? Oh her legs weren’t really straight.’ Meanwhile, if I tried anything that they do, I’d be dead,” she joked.
The multi-Grammy winner went on to praise gymnast Simone Biles for her gold medal performance, saying, “She was absolutely brilliant.”
