Meghan Markle beams with pride as Prince Harry receives new honour
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry stand united following award backlash
Meghan Markle stands united with her husband Prince Harry as he received the Pat Tillman Award for Service after severe backlash.
Dressed in a chic long white gown, the Duchess of Sussex was seen applauding and beaming with joy during her partner's acceptance speech.
For the unversed, the former working royal received the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2024 ESPY Awards at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on July 11.
The Montecito couple seemed unaffected by the criticism directed at Harry for being an undeserving candidate for the noble accolade.
For the unversed, Pat Tillman's mother Mary called out the decision to honour the former working royal and dubbed him "controversial and divisive."
As reported by Daily Mail, she said, "I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award."
She added, "There are recipients that are far more fitting. There are individuals working in the veteran community that are doing tremendous things to assist veterans."
"These individuals do not have the money, resources, connections or privilege that Prince Harry has. I feel that those types of individuals should be recognised," Mary further said.
