Queen Camilla crushes King Charles’ plans to reconcile with Prince Harry
King Charles ‘hopes’ to salvage bond with Prince Harry as Camilla stands in the way
King Charles may be looking to reunite with his estranged son Prince Harry, but his wife Queen Camilla is determined from stopping the reconciliation from happening.
Ever since the monarch has been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, Camilla has been stepping in for him despite her own health struggles owing to her advanced age.
While Camilla is Charles’ ‘fiercest ally’ she is highly opposed to the Duke of Sussex returning to the royal family fold, especially after he bad-mouthed her in his bombshell memoir, Spare, per a source cited by Us Weekly.
“Camilla dislikes Harry and doesn’t want Charles to get stressed while he’s undergoing treatment, so she tries to limit interaction,” the insider told the outlet.
Meanwhile, King Charles is “holding out hope of salvaging their relationship but is hugely conflicted because Harry has hurt William and Camilla so much.”
However, the source added that the rift has been a two-way street adding that “Harry has also been hurt” given his strained relationship throughout his time while he was with the royal family.
Reports have suggested that King Charles is not satisfied with mere video calls to his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and wants to meet them in person.
Moreover, royal author Tom Quinn also revealed to The Mirror that Charles is “in discussion” to take a trip to US and may even make time for Prince Harry while he is in the country.
