Justin Timberlake’s lawyer addresses singer’s DWI arrest
Justin Timberlake’s attorney is all set to defend the singer against recent allegations
Justin Timberlake’s lawyer Edward Burke Jr. has recently addressed the singer’s DWI arrest.
On June 19, Justin’s attorney spoke up one day after the singer was arrested and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, via E! News.
Edward said, “His team will look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations.”
“I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time, but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney's office,” he added.
Justin, who shares two sons with wife Jessica Biel was charged on June 18 after police officials found him “in an intoxicated condition” during a traffic stop in Long Island, New York.
At the time, police noticed that his “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, with a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath,” per a criminal complaint obtained by NBC News.
According to the police authorities, Justin “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests”.
The lawyer allegedly told an officer, “I had one martini and I followed my friends’ home.”
Justin was found guilty after he refused to be tested for impairment, per police officials. He was released without bail.
The outlet reported that the singer will begin his performance in Chicago on June 21 for the next leg of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
Meanwhile, Justin’s wife Jessica is currently filming The Better Sister in New York.
