A US news television anchor is being praised for keeping her calm after she swallowed a fly live on television.
The video of this Boston 25 News anchor has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place last week when Boston 25’s morning anchor Vanessa Welch was delivering the news. The insect first sat on her lower lashes and then it fell off right into her mouth.
She was in the middle of delivering the sentence when the insect entered her mouth. The incident was captured on camera.
The news anchor appeared to swallow the insect and then smoothly continued the broadcast with confidence.
The clip showed Ms Welch appearing to swallow the insect and continuing to broadcast as if nothing had happened. Her commitment to the news attracted netizens who praised her.
An X user shared the video and said, "News anchor on Boston25 Vanessa Welch swallowed a fly that flew into her mouth, but continued to talk as if nothing had happened."
Soon, the clip went viral on social media platforms where users showered her with praise for her professionalism.
