The Prince and Princess of Wales were captured in an unseen photo during a surprise stay at a local B&B.
In April 2023, William and Kate visited Wales for a two-day trip. During their visit, they visited the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team headquarters in Merthyr Tydfil, where they participated in abseiling and a mock rescue.
Since the trip required an overnight stay, the royal couple stayed at a B&B. The following day, they visited Aberfan to pay tribute to the victims of a tragic mine disaster that occurred in 1966.
The accommodation they stayed at, Duffryn Mawr Country House, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, commemorated their stay by sharing a photo on social media of the royal couple posing with staff.
The B&B wrote on Facebook: "It's been 1 year since we welcomed William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, to Duffryn Mawr! We were delighted to welcome William and Kate for a night here when they visited The Brecon Beacons. So kind and friendly, it was a pleasure to have them stay here."
Kate has been away from royal duties since the beginning of the year after undergoing major abdominal surgery followed by receiving a cancer diagnosis. In an emotional message to the world in March, she also revealed she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
