11-year-old boy arrested after indecent assaults on women
Bristol police detain 11-year-old boy following string of indecent assaults on women and a teenager
UK police have arrested an 11-year-old boy following a series of indecent assaults on women in Bristol.
The victims included a woman and a 14-year-old girl. Three other women were reportedly threatened with a knife.
The incidents took place in the Redcliff and Montpelier areas of Bristol between March 20th and 25th, according to Avon and Somerset Police. Police investigators are investigating a possible connection between the incidents because of similarities in the suspect's description.
The boy, who is so young, has been released on bail after being questioned in the presence of an adult. The boy was interrogated to determine if he could provide any information to assist with the investigation.
"We continue to carry out inquiries into each of these incidents and remain open minded as to whether they are linked," said Acting Chief Inspector Tom Gent. "The individual we have arrested is a child and we have interviewed him alongside an appropriate adult to see if he has any information about the incidents which could help our investigation."
Police are working with local partners and have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents.
"The nature of the offences is concerning and officers continue to target their patrols to provide reassurance and to act as a deterrent," the police officer said.
