Abu Dhabi unveils plans to create 178,000 jobs by 2030
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Sector Strategy 2030 has announced to achieve a target of AED90 billion by the end of the decade
Under the Abu Dhabi Tourism Sector Strategy 2030, Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved plans to create 178,000 jobs and to attract 39.3 million tourists into the city, Lovin Abu Dhabi reported.
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Sector Strategy 2030 has announced to achieve a target of AED90 billion by the end of the decade. The government aims to move its economy away from an oil dependent GDP to a non-oil GDP. This initiative is an attempt to foster sustainable economic diversification and reduce reliance on oil revenue.
In 2023, Abu Dhabi saw a surge in the influx of tourists with the number reaching over 24 million, a 30% increase from previous year.
This increase brought in a revenue of AED49 billion into the emirate’s economy, with the hotel sector alone contributing AED6.4 billion.
During the Abu Dhabi Executive Council's meeting, Sheikh Khaled also reviewed latest government plans, initiatives, and several projects that aim to enhance citizen’s wellbeing by strengthening infrastructure, facilities and community services.
Central to the strategy is a comprehensive vision to reshape Abu Dhabi’s social and economic landscape through sustainable development, in harmony with the overarching goals of Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030.
