Donald Trump loses his calm as clock runs down on $464m bond payment
Letitia James to seize Trump properties if he is unable to pay by Monday
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump went on an erratic rant over the weekend posting a series of posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, accusing the Attorney General of New York, Letitia James for plotting against him, The Independent reported.
Bashing James, the former United States' president wrote: "Leticia [sic] James has a TERRIBLE RECORD ON VIOLENT CRIME AS NEW YORK STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. BUT AT LEAST SHE GOES AFTER TRUMP FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG!"
Furthermore, he accused Judge Arthur Engoron of creating "a fake narrative" and calling him "grosssly incompetent and corrupt!!!"
He then went on to accuse the Joe Biden administration of masterminding the case, saying that the "Trump hating attorney general, takes her orders directly from the White House."
Trump, 77, compared the seizing of his properties to "communism", claiming that businesses are shutting down in New York due to his case.
The former president is facing a plethora of cases, including a civil fraud case, which claims that he and his sons — Donald Jr and Eric — and two of his executives, overvalued their wealth to appear likable to banks and investors for loans.
In February 2024, Engoron ruled that Trump must pay $464m for grossly inflating his net worth for more than a decade.
The attorney general of New York has announced that if Trump is not able to pay by Monday, March 25, his properties will be seized.
However, according to statements by Trump's lawyers at the court, the real estate mogul has not been able to gather the amount.
