NV Energy: Here's reason behind Henderson power outage that affected 29,000 people

A power outage in Clark County, Henderson, affected thousands of residences, NV Energy said on Saturday.

Over 29,000 customers were impacted by the significant outage, which started at around 5pm and lasted for more than three hours, according to local media.

The majority of western Henderson and a few neighbouring unincorporated regions of Clark County were affected by the outage.

According to EnergyPortal.eu, the power company's outage map "showed that a large number of those impacted were located in the 89014 and 89074 zip codes".

In an appearance on Channel 13, energy authorities stated that workers arrived at the location and started working to restore electricity "safely and quickly."

NV Energy finally verified that the area's electricity had been restored around 8:30pm.

What had actually happened?

A car that struck a gearbox riser and damaged many power lines was the reason behind the protracted power outage, according to a statement from NV Energy.

Power outages have become frequent occurrences for a variety of causes, according to EnergyPortal.eu, which advised consumers to keep emergency supplies on hand in case of such situations.
