Britney Spears achieves 'Billions Club' status on Spotify with her iconic hit 'Toxic'

Britney Spears continues to make waves in the music world even after a considerable break from releasing albums. 

Recently, her song Toxic achieved a remarkable milestone, joining the exclusive 'Billions Club' with over a billion streams on Spotify. Surpassing legendary tracks like ABBA's Dancing Queen from 1976, Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody from 1987, and DJ Khaled's Wild Thoughts from 2017 is no small feat. Alongside this achievement, the singer is basking in the success of her latest release, Mind Your Business, a collaboration with Will.i.am.

Toxic's popularity as one of the best-selling songs of all time has been well-known, and its inclusion in Spotify's billion-stream playlist comes as no surprise. On the same day, Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero also reached the billion-stream mark. Among Britney's repertoire, Toxic remains her biggest hit, followed by Baby One More Time, which has accumulated an impressive 650 million streams on Spotify.

Interestingly, Toxic was part of Britney Spears' 2003 album, In the Zone, and it was initially planned as a duet with Kylie Minogue. However, the Australian singer declined the offer.
