Ed Sheeran willing to ‘quit’ music if he loses copyright infringement case

Ed Sheeran is taking things seriously as he said he would leave the music industry if he lost the copyright infringement case currently filed against him.

The Grammy winner revealed what he would do if he lost the trial, declaring, “If that happens, I’m done – I’m stopping."

He added, “I find it really insulting to work my whole life as a singer-songwriter and diminish it.”

The 32-year-old fervently denied copying his hit Thinking Out Loud from Marvin Gaye's 1973 R&B classic Let's Get It On.

“Did you copy anything from Let’s Get it On when you wrote Thinking Out Loud?” attorney Ilene Farkas questioned Sheeran.

“No,” he maintained.

Sheeran is being sued by the daughter of the late song-writer Ed Townsend, who claims that the singer ripped off the tune of Marvin Gaye’s classic Let’s Get It On

In other news, Sheeran revealed his life's toughest phase in the new Disney+ docuseries Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All, sharing that his wife was diagnosed with cancer and best friend Jamal Edwards suddenly died in the same month.

"In a kinda chaotic storm where you’re just trying to stay level. Like, I hadn’t really grown up until I felt grief. Loss — it just took over my life," Sheeran said.
