Urdu-Russian dictionary launched

The launching ceremony of Urdu-Russian Dictionary was jointly organised by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences and National Language Authority, says a press release.
Tashmirza Khalmirzaev compiled the dictionary. Diplomats of former Soviet states and well-known personalities from different spheres of life attended the ceremony. Dr. Anwaar Ahmed and other officers of NLA and PAS warmly received the guests at the entry of the hall. Dr. A Q Khan was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The ceremony began with the opening speech of Dr. Najeeb Jamal who heartedly congratulated Tashmirza Khalmirzaev on this great achievement. Dr Najeeb said that the Urdu-Russian Dictionary is a great job performed by Tashmirza Khalmirzaev and the struggle for similar work will continue.
Dr. A Q Khan appreciated the job done by Tashmirza Khalmirzaev. He revealed that he knows Tashmirza Khalmirzaev for 30 years and met him in the embassy on his return from abroad.
He also threw light on his relations with scientists of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and his journey to different cities of these beautiful countries. He also discussed difficulties Tashmirza Khalmirzaev faced during the compilation of the dictionary and appreciated his determination and enthusiasm.
Aslam Azhar and Anwaar Nasim also congratulated Tashmirza Khalmirzaev and appreciated his efforts and the great job he performed.
Later, Iftikhar Ali, general secretary of the Association of Pakistani Graduates from Russia & Commonwealth of Independent States, presented a bouquet to the chief guest, Dr. A Q Khan.
