LAHORE
The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its campaign against adulterated food and illegal slaughtering in the provincial capital on Friday and sealed many outlets besides imposing fines on them.
Officials said a special task force of the PFA raided an illegal slaughtering house in Lakhodair area and seized 550 kg unhygienic and unhealthy meat. The team also arrested three persons on the spot and handed them over to the police.
PFA's Ravi Town team raided Sheikh Muraba Factory in Shahdara area and sealed it for various violations. Samples were also taken from the factory and sent for examination. The team further raided Shahbaz Dahi Bhala factory and sealed it after recovery of expired edibles, presence of insects and extrem unhygienic conditions. A case was also registered against the owner and two persons were arrested on the spot.
In other raids, teams of Data Town, Samanabad Town, Gulberg Town and Allama Iqbal Town raided various food outlets in their jurisdictions and imposed heavy fines on the shopkeepers.
