LDA DG directed to appear before Information Commission

LAHORE:Following the absence of the officials concerned from Lahore Development Authority (LDA), the Punjab Information Commission (PIC) has directed the LDA DG to present the required information on the next hearing.

The order was passed by the PIC in complaint # 9-10-2025-1 Ali Rehmani Vs DG LDA Lahore. Subject of the order is 'RTI Complaint Regarding Non-Provision of Public Information under the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013.'

The order stated that the complainant was present in person while none was present on behalf of respondent public body. It further stated that despite repeated notices, no one has appeared on behalf of respondent public body. It added that the PIO of the respondent public body was reminded of his statutory obligation u/s 10 (7) of the Punjab Transparency & Right to Information Act, 2013 and was directed to appear on next date of hearing along-with either two sets of certified copies of record containing information sought by the complainant or a speaking order refusing provision of such information or part of information in terms of Sec-10 (8) of RTI Act 2013 read with Rule 5 (11) of the Punjab Transparency & Right to Information Rules, 2014. A copy of the order was also sent to the LDA DG to ensure compliance of afore-stated directions. The next hearing will be held on November 24.
