Sabzazar police on Wednesday arrested a woman for allegedly killing her five children at Sabzazar, Lahore.
The police raided a house at Nisar Colony and arrested Sadaf alias Samina on the charge of setting ablaze her five children after quarreling with her husband Tariq Shahbaz. The accused woman after allegedly killing her kids had posed that the fire erupted in her house due to short-circuit. The police shifted the woman to Lahore for further investigation.
cops held: Okara police on Wednesday arrested six persons, including four policemen, on the charge of blackmailing people after preparing their fake criminal record.
Talking to media, DPO Faisal Rana told that Sadar police stopped a jeep having a blue revolving light and green number plate for checking. Two jeep riders introduced themselves as Amir Riaz and Abdul Ghaffar of Chira Maneka.
During interrogation, Abdul Ghaffar claimed that he was a government employee but could not produce any document to prove his identity, he said. Later, the DPO added, it was revealed that both the persons and their accomplices, including Muslim Town, Lahore, police constable Ihsan, CR Data Branch Kasur police incharge Abdullah Amin, PDA Operator, Islamabad, Ashfaq, and Nankana DPO Office constable Nasir, had made a gang, which was involved in preparing fake criminal data of the people and blackmailed them. The DPO said that the gang had looted a huge amount of money from the people by blackmailing them.
The Sadar police have registered a case against the accused persons under sections 468, 471 and 170. The DPO also suspended ASI Zahid, Criminal Analysis Branch Office incharge, for having links with the arrested persons.
upgradation: Hundreds of sub-engineers and draftsmen from the Building, Roads, Wasa and other departments in Gujranwala, on Wednesday staged a demonstration against the government for not upgrading their pay scales outside the Commissioner Office here.
The protesters, led by Diploma Engineers Federation divisional president Sarfraz Zaheer, were carrying banners and placards.
They chanted slogans in favour of their demands. Sarfraz Zaheer while talking to media said that all the clerical staff had been upgraded by the Punjab government in the province but draftsmen and sub-engineers were not entertained in this package. He demanded the government upgrade their scales immediately.
DEATH WARRANT: District and Sessions Judge Wednesday issued a death warrant for a killer on Wednesday. Shahzad of Kamoke had killed Razia in 2000. His appeal against the sentence was also dismissed by the superior courts. The convict will be hanged in central jail Gujranwala on February 12, 2016.
Murder: Doctors will observe a complete strike against the murder of Dr Shahid Nazir in all private and government hospitals in Malakwal on Thursday (today).
It was said by Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) tehsil president Dr Manzoor Rasool while talking to The News here.
He said that the PMA had given three days deadline to the police to arrest the killers but to no avail. He said that the doctor would stage a sit-in against the murder of Dr Shahid Nazir in front of the Mandi Bahauddin DPO Office on Friday (tomorrow). He said that the murder of Dr Shahid had exposed poor security system of police.
