A man killed his daughter for ‘honour’ at Chak 62/D on Monday.

Accused Matham had doubted on the character of his daughter Sonia. On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly shot her dead. Police have registered a case.

WOMAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT: A woman was killed while her son sustained injuries in an accident near Chak 147/EB on Monday. Hammad and his mother Bushra Bibi were on their way by a bike when a speeding tractor hit their bike on Multan Road. As a result, both bikers fell on the road and received injuries. In the meantime, a vehicle coming from behind crushed Bushra Bibi to death.

BIKE SNATCHED: A dacoity incident was reported here on Monday. Dilawar Ali of Chak Malikpur was on his way by a bike when two dacoits intercepted him and snatched his vehicle. Police have registered a case.

3 held with narcotics: Okara police on Monday arrested three drug pushers and recovered narcotics from them in separate incidents here.

On a tip-off, B-Division police raided and arrested Muhammad Wasim with 520 grams charas while Hujra Shah Muqeem police arrested Ramzan with 350 grams charas. City Depalpur police nabbed Mazhar Shah with 23 litres brewed wine. The police have registered separate cases.

PERFORMANCE LAUDED: Excise and Taxation Department Divisional Director Imran Aslam on Monday visited here and lauded the efforts of the Okara E&TD staff for showing excellent performance while collecting Property Tax, Motor Tax and other taxes in the district.

The divisional director during his visit here lauded the services of the Okara staff for collecting taxes from hundreds of vehicles and achieved the set targets of recovery of various taxes from defaulters.
