CM orders foolproof security on campuses

On the directives of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab government has issued orders of foolproof security arrangements in public, private, missionary, armed forces, multinational schools, colleges and universities.

In a circular issued by the government it has been stated that educational institutions will not be allowed to work in case of unsatisfactory security arrangements. It has been directed to check vehicles and buses used for transportation of students and parking at safe places. Special committees will daily inspect A-category schools to review security arrangements. Moreover, it has been directed to further tighten security arrangements at all bus terminals, railway stations and public places. It has been directed to carry out search operations at sensitive institutions and other important places while instructions had been issued for strict checking at entry points of districts and the province. Polio and measles teams will be allowed to enter schools and educational institutions after complete identification and verification. According to the orders of the Home Department, unconcerned persons will not be allowed to enter 30-metre of the premises in the beginning and closing of schools.

Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned terrorist attack at Bacha Khan University and expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives.

Expressing condolences and sympathies with the families of martyrs, the CM said the attack was a cowardly act which was highly condemnable. He said martyrdom of innocent people in the attack was no less than a tragedy. He said the Punjab government equally shared grief of the aggrieved families. He said the beasts targeting the innocent people at the educational institution will not escape deterrent punishment. He said the attack on the university was an attack on Pakistan and the responsible of this incident will be taken to task. He said the great sacrifices of the martyrs will not go waste. He prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

KP Governor: Shahbaz Sharif telephoned KP Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and Provincial Minister Shah Farman. He strongly condemned terrorist attack at Bacha Khan University and expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over loss of precious human lives. The CM said Punjab government and people were with people of KP in this hour of distress. “All our sympathies are with the families of the martyrs. Every Pakistani is grieved over this incident of terrorism. The blood of martyrs will not go waste. The entire nation salutes the great sacrifices of the martyrs.” He said: “We pray for the early recovery of the injured”.
