Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra punished for flouting insider trading norms

Indian actress Shilpa Shetty, her hubby Raj Kundra and his company have been found guilty of not complying with its regulations on insider trading.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed a fine of Rs 0.3 million on Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, her husband Raj Kundra and his firm Viaan Industries for flouting its regulations on insider trading.

Shetty was said to be one of the directors of this company and resigned last year.

SEBI had reportedly conducted an investigation into the dealings of Viaan Industries Limited (formerly known as Hindustan Safety Glass Industries Limited) for the period between September 01, 2013 and December 23, 2015.

During the investigation, the officials found that the couple violated the PIT Regulations and it initiated adjudication proceedings against them under Section 15 A (b) of the SEBI Act, 1992.

Shilpa's hubby Raj Kundra is currently facing investigations for allegedly producing and distributing porn films. He was arrested on July 19 and is currently under judicial custody.
