Gang rape victim to record statement on 6th

A judicial magistrate fixedJanuary 6for recording the statement of a teenagegirl who had allegedly been gang raped in a local hotel.

The counsel of the victim on Saturday contended that her health was not good and she could not appear before the court. He prayed the court to fixthe next date for recording her statement. However, the court fixed January 6for recording of her statement. Eight accused are on judicial remand tillJanuary 3, for committing rape with a teenagegirl in a local hotel. Police had registered a case against the identified as Adnan Sana Ullah, Abdul Majid, Muhamamd Umar, Qamar Zaman, Ameer Muhammad, Haris and Bilal on the complaint of the mother of the victim The complainant, a resident of Rana Town, Multan Road, told police that her daughter, a student of grade 8, went to a tailor’s shop nearby their house on Friday and went missing. She said that they received a message on Sunday that the victim was found in an unconscious condition in a room of a seven-start hotel situated on Upper Mall. Police recovered the victim from the hotel in an unconscious condition. They also arrested six accused including the hotel manager. The medical examination of the victim proved gang rape with the victim, police said. The complainant told police that the victim was intoxicated and assaulted by more than 10 accused.

Pilot to be indicted on 7th: An Anti-terrorism court on Saturday fixedJanuary 7for framing charges against a pilot of a private airline allegedly involved in crash landing under the influence of alcohol and endangeringlives of passengers. On Saturday, the court handed over copies of the case record to the accused and adjourned the hearing for framing charges by January 7.As per the challan, police declared Asmat Mehmood guilty of crash landing in a drunken state. The police stated that after investigations it revealed that the pilot had started landing from 5,000 feet while ignoring directions of air traffic control officials. It stated that the air traffic control had directed the pilot to start landing from 3,000 feet which is a slandered height for landing but the pilot under the influence of alcohol ignored the directions and kept on landing the flight from 5000 feet which caused crash landing. Moreover, a medical report of the pilot revealed that alcohol level in his blood was 83MG per deciliter at the time of crash landing which was much higher than permissible or concentration level for pilots, which is 40MG per deciliter. Furthermore, the pilot was also carrying alcohol with him. The police said that due to the crash landing many passengers received injuries and it could have also hurt people at the airport and in the landing area.

OnNovember 3, the flight carrying 121 passengers and crew, made a crash landing at Allama Iqbal Airport. The tyres of the aircraft burst and it skidoff the runway.More than ten passengers received injuries.
