Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop’s globally acknowledged Sufi Festival started amid colours and sounds at Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi Stadium on Friday evening.
The entire surroundings of the Alhamra Cultural Complex was reverberating with the echo of the fusion of guitar, durms and Ik Tara as world renowned folk singer Sain Zahoor and Noori band on the inaugural night in the amphitheatre of Alhamra Cultural Complex.
The entire lineup of renowned Pakistani folk singers and performing artistes was a feast for the Sufi music lovers and the performers as well since the fusion of the western and the eastern musical instruments along with the resonant voice of Sian Zahoor created a spell-biding effect on all those present on this unique occasion.
Despite the fact that weather is getting colder and the winter winds are gaining their pace, the enthusiastic Sufi music lovers and the organisers are equally excited for the big night.
Besides many a great singers and world famous bands like Noori, the lineup of the Sufi Festival performances on its first day included an assortment of mesmerising performances by Surayya Khanum, Sanam Marvi, Badr Mian and Mian Meeri Qawal’s enthralling presentations along with Akbar Khamisoo Khan, Krishanlal Bheel, Shahjo Raag and Mai Dhai’s beautiful performances. —Shahab Ansari
