The Punjab government has approved 24 development schemes of different sectors with an estimated cost of Rs1.63 billion here on Thursday.
These schemes were approved in the 17th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.
Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the Planning and Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to Spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included: Water Supply Pipeline from Kudwala to Banna Post-Cholistan, Bahawalpur at the cost of Rs652.06 million, construction of nullahs from Sublime Chowk to Uggoki More to Sahowala Bridge to Syphon Nullah Aik Silakot at the cost of Rs394.111 million, sewerage/drainage scheme Malikwal City, District MB Din at the cost of Rs237.200 million, development of public park at main boulevard, Gulberg and Ferozepur road, Lahore at the cost of Rs210.421 million, establishment of Project Management Unit (PMU) and hiring of consultant for: I. Construction of General Hospital for Specialised Facilities at Murree. (PC-II), II. Rehabilitation of Samli Sanatorium Hospital and establishment of medical college, Murree. (PC-II) at the cost of Rs4 billion, capacity building of emergency services in Punjab (Phase-II) at the cost of Rs1.028 billion, construction of bridge over River Ravi for metro bus system at the cost of Rs664.051 million, construction of road from Saggian Chowk (Al-Rehman Chowk) to GT Road Gujranwala along Canal Bank in Tehsil Ferozewala, District Sheikhupura (Revised) at the cost of Rs219.641 million, improvement/rehabilitation/dualisation of Sheikhupura-Muridke Road, District Sheikhupura at the cost of Rs1.016 billion, widening/improvement of Gujranwala-Pasrur Road in District Gujranwala and Sialkot (Revised) at the cost of Rs1.220 billion, widening/improvement of Chawinda-Chobara-Sabiz Peer-Charwa Road, Sialkot (Revised) at the cost of Rs280.129 million, construction of double road from Gujrat-Jalalpur Jattan Road to University of Gujrat (upto Nawaz Sharif Medical College), Gujrat at the cost of Rs198.000 million, construction of dual carriageway from Faisalabad Dry Port to Sahianwala via Chak Jhumra), Faisalabad at the cost of Rs395.915 million, widening/improvement of road (Remaining portion) Dewalian to Dhoke Tahlian, construction of link road from Dewalian to Thal Chak and construction of bridge (with approaches) over Bunnah Nullah on Dewalian Segalabad Road, District Chakwal at the cost of Rs238.685 million, augmentation of mechanised unit for snow clearance of Murree Hills, District Rawalpindi (Purchase of snow clearance machines for year 2015-16) at the cost of Rs347.960 million, treatment of Dewal landslide on Rawalpindi-Murree Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs221.831 million, dualisation of road from Jahanian Chowk to Hattian via Motorway Interchange, District Attock (Revised) at the cost of Rs736.125 million, widening/improvement of Lahore-Sargodha Mianwali-Bannu Road, Art: 2 (Phase-II) from Kot Chandna to Dara Tang, District Mianwali (Revised) at the cost of Rs1.989 billion, widening/improvement of metalled road from Adda Sardarpur to Sial Machine, (Remaining portion), District Khanewal at the cost of Rs212.064 million, construction and extension of W/I of Pattan Minara Manthar Road, RY Khan at the cost of Rs338.453 million, widening/improvement of road from Vehari to Tibba Sultanpur, Vehari (Revised) at the cost of Rs733.753 million, widening/repair of road from Quaid-e-Azam Chowk to Dharmewal via Nizam Din Charat Singh, Bakhu Shah, Tibi Sadda Singh Matta Singh, Kanduwal, Rather, Gangowala, Jodhpur, Sura Singh and Adda Pur connecting Basirpur Road at Dharamewala, Okara at the cost of Rs210.327 million, Urban Water Supply Scheme Muridke, District Sheikhupura at the cost of Rs450 million and PCC & Drainage Scheme Theing More/Illah Abad Tehsil Chunian District Kasur at the cost of Rs 256.672 million.
