Animal Sciences (UVAS) signed an MoU with Selcuk University, Turkey for the promotion of educational cooperation.
UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and Selcuk University Rector Prof Dr Hekki Gokbel signed the MoU under which UVAS and Selcuk University will exchange faculty members for lectures and short-term visits, students for higher studies and basic scientific research and hold joint conferences and seminars. They will also develop video conference links and jointly explore national and international funding opportunities for research.
Addressing the MoU signing ceremonies, Prof Pasha briefed the Turkish delegates on academic, research, extension and training programmes of the UVAS.
Vice-President Selcuk University Konya Prof Dr M Musa Ozcan and Department of Agricultural Economics Agriculture Faculty Selcuk, University Konya Dr Mithat Direk were present.
Medical students asked to work with dedication: The Post Graduate Medical Institute, Ameer Ud Din Medical College, Lahore General Hospital Principal (PGMI/AMC/LGH) Prof Khalid Mahmood has said that the intelligent and able students are surety of a prosperous and developed Pakistan. They are real Eagles of Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East. Such students who have successfully qualified for admission in new session of Ameer Ud Din Medical College should now work hard to develop their reputation as good researchers and capable doctors to earn good name for their institution.
He was addressing a function held in honour of 100 new students who have joined fourth batch at Ameer ud Din Medical College, according to a press release issued on Monday. The event was attended by faculty members, MS LGH, Dr Niaz Ahmed, Additional Dean Dr Bushra Suhail, students and their parents.
Prof Khalid Mahmood stressed the students to serve ailing humanity selflessly and with dedication. He said doctors are entitled to heal the diseased and sick human beings by virtue of God blessings. He said that there is dearth of competent and good doctors which will be covered by doctors of Ameer ud Din Medical College. He said Punjab CM has taken revolutionary steps to improve medical facilities throughout the province. He hoped that Ameer ud Din Medical College would be a great asset in medical profession to cater for the future needs, not only for Lahore but for whole of the province.
Prof Khalid Mahmood said all modern machinery and equipment is available in AMC to help out students in their research work. Students of AMC keep themselves aware with the day to day advancements happening in medical field. These students are lucky enough to have such teachers who are specialised in their specific medical areas and subjects. They are imparting medical education not only in Pakistan but also abroad. He hoped that doctors of AMC would contribute great services to nation in coming future.
Plots auctioned: LDA has sold eight plots in an auction held at LDA Community Centre, Muslim Town. The auction committee of LDA monitors the auction process. A total of eight plots were included in the auction and all eight plots were sold for Rs 1,330 million. The base prices of the plots were evaluated by Pakistan Bank Association Evaluators. A total of 62 auctioneers participated in auction.
