DG Rescue Punjab Brig. (r) Dr. Arshad Zia said the implementation of service structure and streamlining of the overall Rescue 1122 system are his main priorities.
Presiding over an introductory meeting of journalists, especially the beat reporters, he said the Rescue 1122, under the supervision of Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, was constituting the Urban Search and Rescue Teams in all the nine divisions of the Punjab, which would respond to any disaster in future along with heavy machinery and modern emergency equipment.
Earlier, he added that his priorities are to implement the service structure, streamline the disciplinary issues, training, welfare of rescuers, revival of allowances, allotment of vehicles, accommodation, extension of leaves and purchase and maintenance of emergency equipment.
Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) said the room for improvement always existed. He said he was working for the welfare of the rescuers. He further said the media personnel also gave important suggestions for the improvement of capacity building of emergency services.
The DG Rescue said he would come upto the expections of the staff who would be placed under the Public Relations Wing for coordinating with the media personnel very soon.
Awareness
In connection with World Osteoporosis Day, the osteoporosis awareness activities were conducted at a private hospital on Tuesday, where patients were facilitated with osteoporosis consultation, diagnostic tests and medicines. According to a press release issued here, Associate Professor of Orthopaedics Dr Muhammad Saleem and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics Dr Imran Manzoor delivered awareness lectures on osteoporosis disease.
