All operational activities were monitored in the central control room established in the head office. MD LWMC Khalid Majeed and other senior management monitored operations both from the control room as well as by paying frequent visits to field areas across the city. Operations were also monitored by android based mobiles system and pictorial record was maintained and more than 32,000 pictures were made available on the portal of Punjab Information and Technology Board. Some 5,900 citizens contacted LWMC at camps as well as via helpline 1139 for assistance and resolving complaints. According to Jamil Khawar, LWMC spokesperson, LWMC administration has thanked citizens for exemplary cooperation during all days of Eid.
Livestock projects reviewed: Progress on development projects for the livestock sectors was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Livestock, Muhammad Arshad.
The meeting was told that Rs.100 million have been allocated for protecting camels against diseases in the province during the current financial year. The meeting was informed that Rs.116 million had been earmarked for equipping government experimental farms on modern lines.
Over Rs.100 million have been allocated for the renovation of government experimental farms Sher Garh, Khushab, Jogeet Pir, Fazalpur, Rakh Ghulaman, Okara, Bhakkar, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, Yazman, Renala, Bahawalnagar and Qadirabad for providing modern facilities. Forty million rupees have been allocated for setting up Narowal Pera Veterinary School during the current financial year.
Traders grieved: Progressive Group, a representative platform of traders and businessmen, have expressed sorrow and grief over the tragic incident in Mina and sympathised with the bereaved families of the martyred Hajis.
In a joint statement issued on Sunday, Progressive Group’s President Khalid Usman and Deputy Secretary Muhammad Ejaz Tanveer said that they were deeply shocked over the incident. They also prayed to Allah almighty for eternal peace for the departed souls and early recovery of the injured Hajis.
