Lockdown in Raiwind city eases

LAHORE :Police decided to relax the lockdown in Raiwind city and its surroundings on Thursday. The lockdown for the shops, including medical stores on Sundar Road, Manga Road and Bhatti Chowk, will be relaxed. However, Tablighi centre and its surroundings will remain sealed.

ACCIDENTS: The Punjab Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 responded to 453 road accidents in all the 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Two people died and 487 suffered injuries in the road accidents. As many as 257 badly injured victims were removed to different hospitals while 230 victims with minor injuries were given first aid by the rescue medical teams.

LWMC: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) continued taking special measures to prevent coronavirus in the City on Thursday. The LWMC managing director along with Operations GM and Planning GM met with Wasa MD and his team.

The purpose of the meeting was to upgrade the LWMC fleet for disinfection of the City. In this regard, foggers will be installed in the mechanical washer and water bowser to make the washing of the City with disinfectant spray more effective. This initiative is being taken in consultation with Wasa.

The LWMC MC said that the department was doing its best to maintain cleanliness in the City followed by the washing of main roads, footpaths and hospitals with disinfectant spray on a daily basis.

He also said foggers’ installation and special washing was intended to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus. LWMC is providing full support to the district administration.

He also appealed to the citizens to take precautionary measures and dispose of waste in bins. Furthermore, a spokesperson for LWMC said that citizens should also cooperate with LWMC to maintain cleanliness in the City.

He asked the citizens to dial LWMC Helpline 1139 or use LWMC mobile application Clean Lahore to lodge waste-related complaints.

national spirit: The Barabri Party Pakistan chief Jawad Ahmed that there is an emergency situation in the country at present so there a need to work together with a national spirit.

He said Imran Khan's Corona Tigers project should be terminated or withdrawn immediately. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan should make a donation of a huge amount, at least 10 per cent of his total wealth, to the fund which he had announced to set up so that he could set an example and then ask the public to donate.

He said the federal and provincial ministers, MNAs and MPAs should also follow the suit.

Health professionals and staff of the Health Department should be provided with safety gear and their services should be appreciated. In case of lockdown, millions of deserving people should be provided with ration but the lockdown should be firmly implemented.

For promoting national harmony and trust amongst public, all political parties should be included in the formation and execution of a national plan of action to fight coronavirus, Jawad Ahmad said.
