Politicians demand restoration of old LG system

LAHORE :The leaders of different parties at All Parties Conference (APC) held under auspices of Pakistan strongly rejected the Tigers Force and called for restoring the old local government system.

The APC was addressed by Pakistan Muslim League-Q Punjab General Secretary Senator Kamil Ali Agha, PPP Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah, Atta Tarar, PML-Q, Jamat-e-Islami's Javaid Kasuri, Barabri Party Pakistan head Jawad Amed, Farooq Tariq, Dr Attiqu Rehman and others. Addressing the APC, Senator Kamil Ali Agha pointed out to the difficulties and problems being faced by the people. Emphasising on changes to the proposed recommendations at APC, he suggested conference express concern over increase in coronavirus speard in whole of the country and not just in Punjab. He said emphasis should be laid on immediate and effective measures for saving the people from hunger besides coronavirus.

Kamil Ali Agha said coronavirus was fast spreading throughout the country and for this only Punjab government should not be criticised. He said the testing system should be improved throughout the country.

Nowhere there should be any doubt about facts being hidden, since Punjab is the biggest province as such in all areas of the country and the steps taken by Punjab government particularly for distribution of ration, treatment of pandemic victims and protection of the common man should be improved, immediate provision of protective kits for the doctors and paramedical staff fighting on the frontline against corona should be ensured and measures should also be taken for ensuring protection to police, Rangers and the people engaged in fight against coronavirus. Kamil Ali Agha in particular emphasised that the reservations of Tableeghi Jamaat should immediately be allayed as they are religious people and perform important and great duty of preaching Islam. This is to request the provincial governments and the federal government that in this difficult time respectable and honourable attitude be adopted towards them; excesses so far committed with them should be compensated; Pakistan and its people cannot bear annoyance of these great pious people in this difficult time; Sindh government should immediately compensate for the maltreatment and immoral treatment meted out to the Tableeghi Jamaat members in Sukkur and Hyderabad centres, the PML-Q leader said. Kamil Ali Agha further said, “We are concerned about the health of Provincial Education Minister Saeed Ghani and also pray may he fully recover with the blessings of Almighty Allah.”

The APC demanded the Centre to release funds for the federating units. The participants paid tribute to doctors, paramedic staff, security personnel, Jawans of Pak Army, Rangers who were playing their role in fight against coronavirus. The APC passed a resolution while paying rich tribute to Dr Usama who lost his life while treating coronavirus patients. It also called for increasing the number of quarantine centres in the country and equipping the staff with safety gear performing duty with the patients.

The APC demanded all-out measure to address the complaints raised by the members of Tableeghi Jamat and urged the government to form committee who must be briefed on a daily basis about the situation.

The APC strongly rejected the Tigers Force and called for restoring the old local government system. The APC expressed profound grief over the death of Jang Group Chairman Mir Javaid ur Rahman and prayed for him. PML-N leader Atta Tarar said that N League was ready to host the next APC over coronavirus issue.
