Flower shop sealed on violation of Section 144

LAHORE:The district administration sealed a flower shop here on Sunday on violation of Section 144 in the City. Officials said the deputy commissioner was informed that a flower shop was open in Liberty Market, on which, he directed the assistant commissioner concerned to take immediate action. A team raided the shop and sealed it and registered a case against its owner. Meanwhile, the DC issued a report on action against price control activities in the city during the two days. According to the report, 374 points were inspected out of which violations were found at 67 points and the price control magistrates imposed heavy fines on the shopkeepers involved in overcharging. Cases were also registered against eight shopkeepers while one was sent to jail. The supply of flour on 25 trucks continued in various City localities. Officials said a total of 17,250 bags were sent on the trucks out of which 15,095 were sold out. The DC said that citizens could purchase flour from the trucking points. In different raids in the City, the district administration recovered stocks of facemasks, hand sanitizer and other related material. Officials said a total of 491 inspections were made in which 72,500 masks, 2,780 hand sanitizer bottles, 600 litre hand wash material were recovered besides 1,400 litre hand wash gel making material.
