Governor Sarwar visits quarantine in GCU

LAHORE:Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar visited the quarantine centre in Government College University Lahore.

The Punjab governor said carelessness for a moment could cause death during coronavirus pandemics. He said “Covid-19 has become greatest challenge for Pakistan but we will defeat it by unity.” He stated all medical and paramedical staff especially the doctors were fighting coronavirus on the frontline. Universities are also playing vital role, he added.

Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar visited the quarantine center in GCU where Vice-Chancellor Dr Asghar Zaidi briefed him that there were 394 rooms in the university which had been reserved for quarantined patients. Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar said, “We are fighting to save 220 million Pakistanis. We have established telemedicine centres in all medical colleges and universities of Punjab where more than 300 doctors are performing their duties.” The VCs of the universities are playing an important role in our fight against coronavirus, the Punjab governor said.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, federal and provincial governments are taking all required measures against coronavirus epidemic, he said. “After spread of the pandemic in China, we had started taking necessary precautions. For us, the health and lives of people matter more than any other interest.
